Who Am I?

I am a husband, a father, a business owner and a hard working American who has spent many years pursuing and achieving the American dream.  It is now time to take a time out from that dream and give back to my country which has afforded me fantanstic opportunities over the years.

I have been married to my wife Corrine for 15 very special years.  I am blessed to have such a supportive and caring wife who is 100% behind me in my efforts to run for office.  She knows it will take time away from our family and that I will miss many meals at our kitchen table, but she will support and assist me in the months and years ahead.  We have two wonderful sons, Garrett, 11 and Tanner, 9.

I came to Texas nearly 20 years ago with just what I could fit in my car and a few boxes shipped via UPS. Katy, Texas has been my home since 1990.  I struggled and stumbled along the way, but eventually established a small consulting company that grew into a million dollar business and achieved the American dream.  My wife once gave me a plaque that said, “By faithfully working 8 hours a day, you may eventually get to be boss and work 12 hours a day.”  I was working 12 hour days and then some at that time.  I led my employees by example and put in the time it takes to nurture and grow a business, just as each and every successful business owner does.

This is the same effort I will put forth in representing the people of Texas and of the United States of America.  Both of my parents worked in education and they taught me much in life including the golden rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."  I have taken that to heart over the years and do try to live by those words.  My father’s passing was not too long ago.  He was a giving and caring man who gave of himself to help others.  As his brother eulogized my father, he recalled the time he asked my dad why he did what he did, to which my dad responded, “because I am here to serve, not to be served”.  My time to serve this great nation has arrived; it is the least I can do the repay all she has given me.
